JESUS IS GOD (PART 1 of 2)
THIS LESSON IDENTIFIES FORTY PROOFS OF JESUS’ DEITY AS GOD
To all those truth seekers that do not believe the lying spirits whom the Bible declares, “are gone out into the world to deceive mankind and to blind the souls of man, into believing a lie that Jesus Christ is not God.” Jesus is not only son of God and God the Son, but he is also God.
Genesis 1:1 (KJV) “In the beginning God (Jesus) created the heaven and the earth.”
Comment: And He created everything else the Bible says. How do we know that Jesus did the creating?
Colossians 1:16 (KJV) “For by him (Jesus) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, (Jesus) and for him:” (Jesus)
Comment: Now in the beginning who created the Heavens and Earth?
Psalm 110:1 (KJV) “The LORD said unto my Lord, (Jesus) Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.”
Comment: Here we see God the Father ascribing to God the Son, the same status and Lordship as Himself. Now look at the next proof in regards to being equal, Jesus with the Father.
Philippians 2:6 (KJV) “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:” (The Father)
Comment: Here the Scriptures do plainly equate Jesus the Son in deity and power with God the Father. Now look at the next proof for further enlightenment along the line of thought and truth.
Colossians 2:9 (KJV) “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”
Comment: Here the Scriptures declare that God the Father, god the Son, and God the holy Spirit, is the Godhead embodied in Christ.
Psalm 146:6 (KJV) “Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:”
Comment: Look to comment #, Inth e beginning God created the Heavens and earth.
Psalm 45:7 (KJV) “Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.”
Comment: Here is the undeniable proof of the Godship and deity of Jesus Christ who is called by God the Father (God)
Isaiah 9:6 (KJV) “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
Comment: Here is the Scripture that tells of the virgin birth of Jesus, also He is called and recognized as God (The Son)
Matthew 1:23 (KJV) “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
Comment: Anyone that believes one word of the Bible cannot, with all honesty and good conscience, and with any knowledge or learned academics, deny what this wonderful verse is saying, Jesus is God! He (Jesus) left God the Father and heaven and took on the form of man. We are now restored as in the beginning, as with Adam and Eve, only this time, fool proof, IF YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED.
Luke 1:47 (KJV) “And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.”
Comment: Here again, it does not take a doctor’s degree to see that in context, this chapter deals with the virgin birth, and the deity of Christ, He being God also.
John 1:1 (KJV) “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
Comment: The enemies of the cross have tried to explain this away, but here is plain truth; that Jesus is God also.
John 2:19 (KJV) “Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
Comment: Here we have Jesus (god) saying that He would raise up Himself in three days.
Genesis 22:8 (KJV) “And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.”
Comment: Here we see that Abraham is not saying God the Father will provide Jesus, but that God the Son will provide Himself (Jesus-God) to be the sacrifice.
John 5:18 (KJV) “Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.”
Comment: Here it is evident that even the Christ-rejecting Jews knew that from the context of this verse, that if it was true, (And it is true) that He was (Christ) God also.
John 11:43 (KJV) “And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.”
Comment: Nobody ever died in the presence of Jesus: nobody ever stayed dead in the presence of Jesus. Here, Jesus specifically called Lazarus’ name, because he (Jesus) is the resurrection and life. And, the whole graveyard, or even the creation would have resurrected, if He didn’t call Lazarus by name.
John 20:28 (KJV) “And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.”
Comment: This is one of the most direct, most clear, most infallible, most dramatic, most plain proofs that Jesus is God.
Romans 8:9 (KJV) “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”
Comment: This is very clear, that if Jesus’ Spirit is God, then He (Jesus) must be God also.
Romans 9:5 (KJV) “Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed
Comment: He is called God once again, As clear as it can be said: Jesus is God.
Ephesians 5:20 (KJV) “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;”
Comment: In the preceding verse, who does the Bible tell us whose name to give thanks to, in Jesus’ name. God and the Father, here Jesus is called God, and God the Father is only called Father, to make sure you get the message.
Luke 5:20-23 (KJV) “And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee. 21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone? 22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts? 23 Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?”
Comment: In these verses the Jews knew that only God could forgive sin; and here even said so. Who forgave us our sins? (God) The Son Jesus He is God, Saviour, and Redeemer. DON”T YOU SEE THAT?
